Dry Rock Shelter | Kahurangi National Park
The Dry Rock Shelter sounds fairly basic, and it is, but the concept seems to work. That is, a rock overhang where a simple timber platform has been built and a few standard plastic-coated DOC mattresses supplied.
No built roof or walls!
For those who like the idea of sleeping, more or less, out in the open but with sufficient shelter against most elements.
