Lake Alabaster Hut | Hollyford Track, Fiordland National Park
The level of the vegetative detritus gives some indication that the lake level can rise phenomenally when Fiordland does its rain thing, like 4 m+, and perhaps with some decent surf.
It’s just a hop down onto the gravelly beach and the view of this unspoiled lake. The modern style Lake Alabaster Hut is comfy, and spacious and a great spot to spend a night while contemplating the Pyke or Demon Trail.
