Locke Stream Hut | Arthurs Pass National Park

Locke Stream Hut is an historic hut, ie, from 1939, that had a verandah added and was fully refurbished back in 1993. Some bush construction skills are still evident, rafters, hand hewn floor boards, etc, there’s plenty of character to soak up.

Did they really bring those construction materials up here on the back of a truck in 1939?
